MEET JENNIFER NGUYEN
My name is Jennifer Nguyen, and I have dedicated more than 20 years to education and helping students build confidence in mathematics.
I hold a Master of Science in Mathematics from Claremont Graduate University, as well as a Master of Science in Pure Mathematics and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona).
My passion for teaching began with private tutoring in 2006, followed by teaching middle and high school mathematics in 2008. Since 2016, I have been teaching mathematics at the college level while continuing to work one-on-one with students through private tutoring.
What makes my approach unique is that I understand firsthand the challenges many students face. Math did not always come naturally to me, and overcoming those obstacles taught me how to explain difficult concepts in ways that truly make sense. Often, it's not about working harder—it's about finding the right explanation. A simple strategy, a new perspective, or a different way of thinking can be the breakthrough that transforms confusion into confidence.
I believe mathematics is about much more than solving equations. It teaches logical thinking, problem-solving, and perseverance—skills that extend far beyond the classroom. Nothing is more rewarding than watching a student gain confidence, improve academically, and discover that they are capable of far more than they once believed.
Whether you're preparing for an important exam, working through a challenging course, or simply looking to strengthen your mathematical foundation, my goal is to provide patient, personalized instruction that helps you succeed—not just today, but throughout your academic journey.
